10 Day Tour from San José to Guanacaste

2018 Tour Details

A beautiful cloud forest, the world’s largest active volcano crater, national parks teeming with life, relaxing thermal hot springs, and beautiful unspoiled beaches—these are just some of the places waiting for you on this Costa Rica tour. You'll overnight in San José, Arenal, Monteverde, and Guanacaste.

You’ll get up close to nature on this Costa Rica tour. A highlight is a walk with a knowledgeable Naturalist in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is home to over 400 bird species, 120 mammal species, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles, more than 3,000 plant species, and one-third of the population of orchids. On your guided walk, have your camera ready to capture this forest's impressive beauty and the species that call this area home. Another highlight of this Costa Rica tour is your time spent at the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Accompanied by an expert Naturalist, take to the treetops for a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the tropical rainforest from the 15 hanging bridges suspended in the rainforest canopy. In the Arenal Volcano area, you’ll also have the chance to relax in the thermal, healing waters at Tabacon Hot Springs, heated by the magma found in the earth’s core.

Near San José, you’ll visit Doka Estate, one of Costa Rica’s premium coffee plantations, and Poás Volcano, the largest active crater in the world with frequent geyser-like eruptions. Here, a walk along the trails leads you through cloud forests filled with stunted and twisted vegetation. Also, three nights in Guanacaste on Costa Rica's north Pacific Coast gives you time to relax on the beautiful beaches or to take part in rainforest canopy tours, river rafting, horseback riding, and so much more.

For value-minded travelers looking to experience nature at its finest, this Costa Rica tour is an experience not to be missed!

If weather conditions allow, you will have the chance to see Lake Botos, which fills an extinct crater. The area is also home to many cloud forest birds, like hummingbirds, tanagers, flycatchers, toucanets, clay-colored robins, and the resplendent quetzal.
